Efficient defatting of miscellaneous natural substances, via supercritical CO₂-extraction, enables utilization of enriched plant proteins in meat substitute products. Examples include legumes (like soy beans or lupine), nuts/seeds (like cashew, pumpkin), as well as grains (e.g. wheat).
